The “Almazara de Valdeverdeja” (“The oil press of Valdeverdeja”) is an stylish resort situated in the heart of the Route of the Castles (“Ruta de los Castillos”), Spanish Conquerors (“Conquistadores”) and Castilian Romanesque (“Románico Castellano”). Located in a rural area, it has the services of a large hotel, but its hospitality philosophy has decanted for comfort and attention to small details to enjoy the pleasures of living in an environment of profound Spain.
From a former oil mill, restored maintaining all its original elements, the resort consists of a hotel -where six double rooms, one suite and a large living area surround a Castilian courtyard- and twelve villas scattered throughout the property with large interior spaces, some with Jacuzzis in the bedrooms, all with private terraces and isolated from each other.
The hotel has several gardens, swimming pools, a gastronomic restaurant, massage and beauty services, a gym and a cozy, intimate wine cellar where you can taste the wines there kept. Moreover, in the old mill all regional art crafts are sold and courses of soap manufacturing, the old fashioned way - pure virgin olive oil based - are taught
Located 15 kmts away from Oropesa, which has the best preserved castle in Spain, Valdeverdeja is at the center of the constellation formed by Toledo –the most known spanish medieval city- Trujillo –cradle of the Spanish Conquerors- Caceres –a world heritage city- Merida -with its theater, circus and Roman Museum- Plasencia -which offers the greatest and purest Spanish Romanesque- and the “Vega del Tietar”, where in addition to the monastery of Yuste, where the Emperor Charles I finished his life and the wonderful “Parador de Jarandilla”, is the birthplace of paprika and has one of the world's most beautiful landscapes spring flowering cherry.
To make your stay more fun, outside the hotel you can practice horseback riding, golf, action and adventure sports, guided tours, visits to Lagartera yarn factories, hams and sausage manufacture, ceramic, oil mills… One can even enjoy medieval private shows within the walls of the Castle of Oropesa.
The “Almazara de Valdeverdeja” is, in the end, as perfect a place to rest as to visit one of the most beautiful regions of Spain.
